ST8812S/SP Dash-Logger System

  Users Guide Addendum

Introduction

This User Guide Addendum describes the differences
between the ST8812S/SP Dash-Logger (new for 2007) and
the Stack ST8112S/SP Dash-Logger.  It should be read as
an addendum to the ST8112S/SP User Guide.

Connections

The wiring harness of the ST8812S/SP has the following
differences from the ST8112S/SP :-

•

The P1 pulse input is used to drive the tachometer needle,
so it can only be connected to an Engine Speed (RPM)
signal.

•

The remaining two pulse inputs (P2 and P3) can be
connected to any of Stack’s pulse sensors, eg, Wheel Speed
(ST670), Boost (ST453) etc.

•

There are six analogue inputs labelled A4, A5, A6, A7, A8
and A9.  These can be connected to any of Stack’s voltage
sensors, eg, Temperature (ST991), Pressure (ST747),
Throttle(ST979), Steering (ST978) etc.  They cannot be
connected to older-style resistive sensors, eg, ST745.

Configuration

As supplied the ST8812S/SP Dash-Logger has no
configuration installed and will show the Stack model and
firmware banner when it is powered up.  Before it can be
used it must be configured using DataPro Designer.

Please see the separate DataPro Designer Quick Start
Guide for instructions about configuring the system.

Once configured the banner can be displayed by holding
down switches 1 and 2 at any time.
