Important provisions for the operation!
At first start-up, the stabo
voxmic 100
needs to be carefully adapted
to the vehicle and your radio set!
Adjusting the response sensitivity (Vox Gain)
Turn the Vox Gain control (1) clockwise up to the stop. Set the
Vox/manual switch (5) to
Vox
. Now, switch your radio set on. Select
a free channel, set the radio set to
FM
modulation and adjust the
volume such that the FM noise is easily audible. Now adjust the squelch
function such that the background noise just disappears. Stop any
possible background noise in the vehicle (radio, fan or the like) and
speak into the microphone at the distance which you will later have
to the microphone when driving the vehicle. While speaking, turn the
Vox Gain control clockwise until the radio set switched over to transmit
mode (the read LED lights up). The response sensitivity of the VOX
is now adjusted such that the stabo voxmic 100 now switches over to
transmit mode without any delay as soon as you start speaking.
Note:
If required, the response sensitivity can be increased even
further. However, please bear in mind that any background noise like
the flasher relays or the fan might accidentally activate the VOX. (In
this case, the radio set switches over to transmit mode and unneces-
sarily occupies the speech channel, but you are not speaking.) If so,
decrease the Vox Gain and speak louder into the microphone or
deactivate the VOX (by switching over to
Manual
) and use the PTT
button (2) for transmitting.
After having finished the transmission, the VOX should again switch
back to reception within 3 sec. (a possible correction can be made by
setting the Anti-Trip).
Adjusting the Anti-Trip
The Anti-Trip function is used to avoid that the VOX switches over to
transmit mode when the voice of your radio partner can by heard
through the loudspeaker. With the correct setting of the Anti-Trip
function, the microphone is automatically locked during reception and
the VOX is not automatically activated. The VOX function can only
switch over to transmit mode again when any receive signal is not
applied and the squelch is closed again.
