Element-MF Stove

If the damper seems to be set correctly for level 5, but there seems to be too much air for
the lower settings, then adjust the combustion fan voltages by using the control board.
(See Troubleshooting & Frequently Asked Questions Section in the back of the manual
for more information)
If the Element-MF has been connected to an existing Chimney system that has good
natural draft, the procedure mentioned in the last 2 points above may actually require that
the damper gets closed slightly instead of opened. This compensates for the additional
draft in the chimney system. The Trim button to adjust the Combustion Fan voltage down
can also be used.
Thermostat Control & Pilot Settings
The Element-MF may be controlled with a thermostat to help maintain a more constant
temperature. A stove burning Corn, Wheat, Rye, Distillers Grain, Cherry Pits or Pellets
will be a little slower in reacting to a thermostat than the typical Gas or Electric stove.
With this in mind, the low setting can be adjusted to increase or decrease the amount of
fuel used. This will allow the heat output to be matched to the size of the home. A larger
home will require more heat than a small one. Keep in mind that the Stove is constantly
producing some heat that helps heat the home while it is in pilot mode. If the home seems
too warm, and the Thermostat is never calling for heat, a lower pilot setting may be a
better fit for the home.
(Read point 3 on page 31 for adjusting the feed rates on the low
setting).
Remember: Choosing a lower Pilot setting may require the Draft Fan Voltage or the
Damper to be fine-tuned to match the lower feed rate. Monitor how the Element-
MF is operating after a change is made and adjust the damper or Combustion Fan
voltage if needed.
If you experience problems adjusting the Element-MF during the Break-In Period,
contact your dealer.
