C. TEST FITMENT
1. A trial fit for the TKO tunnel clearance should be done before permanently
attaching the new tunnel body metal.
2. Lower engine and install transmission to bellhousing using Hardware Pack
HWM-Pack A. Support the transmission with a jack.
3. The original crossmember must be modified for the TKO isolator.
a) Drill spot weld (2) places and remove original iso mount bolt bracket.
See Fig. 5-1.

” dia holes thru crossmember at 1.5” center to center as
shown on Fig. 5-1.
4. Install isolator mount to TKO using M10-1.5 x 30 bolts and lock washers from
HWG-PACK H.
5. Raise the transmission enough to be able to install the modified crossmember
under the isolator mount.
6. Use the original crossmember to body bolts, washers, and nuts. Raise rear of
transmission to allow crossmember to be installed.
7. Position crossmember under isolator mount and lower transmission to rest on
crossmember
– there is no need to install crossmember to isolator bolts for the
clearance test fit.
