FOLLOW THE MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR

DISPLAY AND  TRANSDUCER BEFORE PROCEEDING:

1.  Connect  the  tran s d u c e r  and  power  wires  to  the  display  unit  as  shown  in  figure  3.

2.  If you  choose  to  connec t  night  lighting  simply  connec t  your  12  volt  D.C. wire  as  indicate d  in
figure  3  and  install  a  SPST switch  on  the  positive  (+)  line  to  com plet e  the  circuit  and  activate
the  lights.

3.  To  set  alar m,  turn  the  left  knob  on  instru m e n t  to  SET. Next,  turn  the  right  knob  to  desire d

CALIBRATION

GAIN:
The  rear  GAIN contr ol  is  a  man u al  override  on  the  auto m a tic  gain  control  (AGC) and  is  used  to
set  the  maxim u m  gain.  It usu ally  is  factory  set  to  be  fully  clockwise  (maxim u m  gain)  for  the
greate s t  sensitivity,  however  some ti m e s  turb ule n c e,  ignition  or  electrical  distu r b a n c e,  or
spurio u s  reflectio n s  fro m  the  keel  may  make  the  reading s  unst a ble.  If this  occurs,  turn  the
GAIN control  coun t e r  clockwise  slightly  until  the  reading s  stabilize.

SHALLOW GAIN:
When  the  tran s d u c e r  sen d s  out  its  signal,  it  can  receive  a  reflection  fro m  the  keel,  pilings  or
other  nearby  objects  before  the  reflectio n  from  the  botto m.  To  elimina te  the  retu r n s  fro m
these  unwa n t e d  signals,  the  SHALLOW GAIN mus t  be  adjus t e d.  For  best  result s  start  in  10 - 15
feet  of  water  and  turn  the  SHALLOW GAIN clockwise  until  the  reading s  are  subst a n ti ally  less
than  the  actual  dept h.  Now  turn  coun te r  clockwise  until  the  readi ng s  retu r n  to  the  actu al
dept h.  Repeat  this  proce d u r e  while  un de r  way.

KEEL OFFSET:
The  display  can  be  adju s t e d  to  display  dep t h s  from  surface  of  the  water  to  bott o m,  from  the
keel  to  botto m,  or  tran s d u c e r  to  botto m -  the  unit  is  factory  set  for  tran s d u c e r  to  botto m.  If
you  desire  a  differe n t  set  up  then  meas u r e  the  water  dep t h  with  a  lead  line  and  adjus t  the
KEEL OFFSET clockwise  for  a  lower  reading  (keel  to  botto m)  or  coun te r  clockwise  for  a  higher
reading  (surface  to  botto m).  Each  indicat o r  repre s e n t s  a  1  foot  incre m e n t.
