The SQlab aluminum and SQlab carbon handlebars are distinctive for their backsweep, upsweep, rise and the handlebar width, i.e. the
geometric angles and dimensions.
Accordingly, the adjustment of the handlebars in the stem is important for the correct ergonomics. In order to carry out the basic adjust
ment, a scale has been applied to the front of the middle of the handlebars, which should point horizontally to the front. Since the scale
or crosshairs are not always easy to identify, we have milled a horizontal groove into the right end of the handlebars, at the suggestion
of Sascha Steiner, the editorinchief of the Swiss Ride Magazine. You can insert a credit card or the like in this groove to adjust the
handlebars.
With the bike standing on a level ground, twist the handlebars to the default setting so far that the card is horizontal. This can be seen
quite well by eye, but could also be checked with a corresponding spirit level app on a smartphone.
From there, you can turn the handlebars slightly forwards or backwards as desired to vary the upsweep, backsweep and reach.
