Other devices can discover me
- When this option is enabled,
other Bluetooth devices can see and report your PPC6600.
This allows any device, even those unknown to yours, to
connect to your PPC6600.
Note:
The ability of remote devices to connect is also subject to the security
restrictions, and whether Bluetooth is enabled on your PPC6600.
Enabling Bluetooth Services
The services that your PPC6600 provides to other devices when
using Bluetooth include:
File Transfer
- file-related operations such as get a file/use a file/
delete a file, etc.
Information Exchange
- send the default business card (Pocket
Outlook contact) on request.
Serial Port
- Bluetooth serial port operations. Bluetooth serial
ports are used as a replacement for a physical cable between
devices.
Personal Network Server
- join or host a Bluetooth-based personal
area network
.
Dial-up Networking Server
- provide access, via a phone line or
other access system, to a remote computer network such as an
Internet service.
Hands Free
- allows you to connect to a remote headset or other
audio device.
The availability and security of each service can be configured
individually through the
Services
tab.
