Can I use rechargeable batteries 

in the STEALTH™ Radio Locator?

We do not recommend the use of rechargeable batteries with this product.  
For best performance, use standard CR123 batteries and change the 
batteries regularly.

How old does a dog have to be 

before using the STEALTH™ Radio 

Locator?

Your dog should be able to learn basic obedience commands such as “Sit” or 
“Stay.” The collar transmitter may be too large for dogs under 3.6 kg.

Is the collar transmitter 

waterproof?

Yes. It is waterproof and can be submerged in water.  When changing the 
battery, make sure the battery cover and compartment are free from dirt 
and debris. 

Can my collar transmitter be used 

around salt water?

If the collar transmitter is used in or around salt water, it should be rinsed 
with fresh water following each use.

Is the handheld receiver 

waterproof?

No. The receiver is water resistant and should not be sumerged in water.

Is the STEALTH™ Radio Locator 

capable of multi-dog tracking?

Yes, the STEALTH™ Radio Locator is expandable to a maximum of 9 dogs.  
Additional collar transmitters must be purchased separately.

Will I get exactly 16 km of 

range with the STEALTH™ Radio 

Locator?

The range you get with your STEALTH™ Radio Locator will vary according 
to terrain, weather, vegetation, as well as transmission from other radio 
devices.  To get the maximum amount of range, please refer to the “How the 
System Works” section of this guide.

The answers to these questions should help you solve any problem you have with this system. If they do not, please

my handheld receiver does 

not turn ON. 

•  Check that the battery is not spent.
•  Check that the battery is the correct type (CR123).
•  Check that the battery is installed correctly and is aligned with the negative (-) and 

positive (+) markings.

•  Check that the battery cover is properly closed and the seal is clear of debris.
•  Remove the battery for five minutes, reinstall the battery and try again.  

my handheld receiver is ON 

but there are no sounds or 

sounds are weak.

•  Check that the volume control is not set to mute by pressing the Volume Button. 

my collar transmitter does 

not turn ON.

•  Check that the batteries are not spent.
•  Check that the batteries are the correct type (CR123).
•  Check that the batteries are installed correctly and are aligned with the negative (-) 

and positive (+) markings.

•  Check that battery cover is properly closed and the seal is clear of debris.
•  Erase the collar transmitter pairing from the handheld receiver and pair the  

devices again.

•  If there is a powerful radio transmitter nearby, the collar transmitter may not turn 

ON.  In this case, move away from the radio transmitter.

my collar transmitter 

is ON, but the handheld 

receiver is not tracking it.

•  Check that the handheld receiver is on the correct channel.  Press the Transmitter 

Channel Button to change channels. 

•  Check that the collar transmitter is paired to the handheld receiver.  
•  Pair the collar transmitter again to the handheld receiver.

Unable to find the location 

to the collar transmitter.

The handheld receiver 

Tracking Signal Display 

does not update while 

turning.

•  Check that you are holding the handheld receiver properly.  
•  Large obstacles may distort the signal, or the internal compass may be disrupted 

by electromagnetic fields of strong magnets or power lines.  

•  Find an open, elevated location and try again. 
•  Recalibrate the internal compass by rotating the handheld receiver in all directions. 

my handheld receiver does 

not go into Standby mode 

even though it is pointed 

at the ground.

•  Standby Mode has been disabled.  
•  Turn OFF the handheld receiver.  
•  Turn ON while holding the handheld receiver in a horizontal position.

my handheld receiver goes 

into Standby mode when 

pointed downwards.  I am 

on a high hill and the dog 

is somewhere below me.

•  Disable Standby Mode by turning OFF the handheld receiver.  
•  Turn ON while holding the handheld receiver pointing downward.

The Barking Indicator light 

is not working though the 

dog is barking.

•  The 

Barking Indicator

 requires that the dog is barking at a certain interval and 

volume typical of hunting situations.

•  Check that there is no dirt between the collar and microphone on the collar 

transmitter.

my handheld receiver has 

dropped into water.

Do not try to turn on handheld receiver while wet.

•  Use a cloth to dry the outside of the handheld receiver. 
•  Open the battery compartment and remove the battery. 
•  Dry the battery compartment. 
•  Once dry, reinstall the battery and turn the receiver ON.
