TRANSLATION RUN OVER
4.5 Removal and refitting of the valve plug/
stem assembly and seat

Lift out the seat retaining cage (

) followed by the seat (

).

Remove the seat back gasket (

) and discard.
-
Clean all components, including the seat recess in the valve body.

Examine the seat and plug/stem assembly for damage or
deterioration and renew as necessary.
Note:
Score marks or scaly deposits on the valve stem will lead
to early failure of the gland seals and damage to seat and plug
sealing faces will result in leakage rates higher than those specified
for the valve.

Fit a new seat gasket (

) in the body seat recess followed by
the seat (
6
).

Refit the cage (
5
) ensuring that the flow windows are lower most
and that it sits squarely on the seat without impinging on the
valve body.
