5.5.13 Nozzle block preheater inspection
CAUTION
The heating element of the nozzle block preheater can
heat up during inspection.
Do not pull heating element out of the nozzle holder during
inspection.
NOTE
At a temperature of < 5°C the heating element in the
nozzle holder is switched on via a temperature sensor.
The heating duration depends on the temperature and the
vehicle electrical system voltage.
The power consumption at 24 Volt amounts to approx.
130 Watt.
Inspection using SST diagnosis
t
Remove burner (see 8.2).
t
Connect the test plug to the adapter wiring harness.
t
Connect the heater to the vehicle electrical system.
t
Connect the SST diagnosis adapter to the heater and
a PC via the interface in the heater wiring harness.
Start SST diagnosis, esta blish connection to the
heater and open the Component Test menu.
t
Select the optional nozzle block preheater in the
Component Test menu, select a runtime and start the
component test.
Nominal condition: The heating element warms up.
t
After the test is completed, exit SST diagnosis
as needed.
t
Disconnect the heater from the vehicle electrical
system.
t
Disconnect the test plug.
t
Install burner (see 8.2).
Manual inspection
t
Remove burner (see 8.2).
t
Disconnect the nozzle block preheater plug from the
control unit.
t
If necessary, remove the nozzle block preheater.
t
Check the electrical resistance:
Heating element between pin 1 and 2:
max. 3.9...4.9
:
at 20°C.
t
If necessary, install the nozzle block preheater.
t
Connect the nozzle block preheater plug to the control
unit.
t
Install burner (see 8.2).
