Configuration change
During configuration change, the patient cannot be on the device. It is
recommended a preliminar evalutation intended to choose the best
configuration.
Stretcher Mode -> Chair Mode
The configuration change between stretcher mode and chair mode, takes
place in these two steps:
1.
Raise the device from the telescopic handle’s side, and bring it up until
vertical position is reached.
2.
Keeping the device vertical, place a foot under the configuration change
crossbar to stabilize the device and press down until the main frame has
reached the end of stroke. If the operation has been carried out
successfully, the distance between the top pf the handle and the
beginning of the main frame will be 2,5 cm.
Chair Mode
-> Stretcher Mode
This configuration change is performed similarly to the previous one:
1.
Place the device in chair mode, bringing the footrest on the ground.
2.
Place a foot on the configuration change crossbar.
3.
Lift up the device by the telescopic handles or the main frame.
4.
When the device is fully extended, bring it to the ground.
When changing configuration, make sure that nobody has placed the hands
near sliding systems or moving parts because it could result in crush
injuries.
11.5
Transport in Chair Mode
The device can be used in chair mode with the wheels on the ground for manoeuvres in thigh spaces in order to reach a position suitable for
lifting and transport.
It is not allowed to use the device, with or without the patient on it, using only the rear wheels.
The transport by lifting in chair mode, is particularly indicated in
confined spaces such as stairs.
For this operation the presence of more operators is required, at
least one at the front side and at least one at the rear side.
Proceed as follows:
Ensure that patient’s clinical conditions are suitable for
transport in sitting position.
Place the device in chair mode as described above verifying
that the configuration change has been carried out properly.
Open the rear handles until they are fully opened.
Place the patient on the device and secure it with provided
belts.
Coordinating movements, lift the device using the rear
handles and the handles of the seat frame.
Handling on wheels, is useful for short displacements or to
facilitate moves in perspective of a subsequent lifting.
Ensure that patient’s clinical conditions are suitable for
transport in sitting position.
Place the device in chair mode as described above verifying
that the configuration change has been carried out properly.
Grasp the telescopic handles from the rear side, place a foot
on the configuration change crossbar in order to limit
movements of the chair and tilt the device towards you.
In order to limit risks for the patient, especially if heavy, this
operation should not be performed by a single operator.
Move the device sliding it on the ground using the wheels.
For obstacles higher than 1cm, is necessary to lift the device.
