INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Before  transferring,  lifting  or  transporting  the  patient,  primary  medical  evaluations  have  to  be  performed.  Once  the  diagnosis  has  been
assured, it is preferable (if possible) to suggest to the patient that he actively collaborates during transfer onto the stretcher, and to make
sure  the  patient  is  fully  aware  of  all  risks.  Before  loading  the  patient,  place  the  device  near  the  patient;  always  maintain  the  safety  belts
fastened during the manoeuvres.

11.1

Posizionamento cinture

Both in chair and stretcher mode, is essential to use the supplied safety belts.
The device comes with 3 belts.
The  longer  belt,  intended  to  immobilize  chest,  should  be  positioned
immediately  above  the  ground  support  feet,  making  it  pass  behind  the
backrest as shown in thumbnail

A

The  location  of  this  belt  can  be  different  if  used  with  particularly  low
patients, for which it could be necessary to place the belt at a lower height.

Never pass this belt around the neck!

The seat belt, must be passed under the seat frame.
The  shorter  belt,  intended  for  legs  immobilization,  must  pass  between  the
vertical support frame of the seat and the seat  as shown in the thumbnail

B.

When the device is used in stretcher mode, the belts should be placed in the
same position.

In order to allow faster rescue operations, is recommended to maintain the
belts  installed  on  the  device  and  to  open  them  only  when  loading  the
patient on the device.

After  patient  positioning,  fasten  the  belts  and  tighten  them  to  ensure  a
correct immobilization.

11.2

Telescopic handles

The  telescopic  handles  have  been  made  to  facilitate  lifting  of  the  device
when in stretcher mode or to make tilting easier when in chair mode. They
are  kept  in  position  by  a  mechanism  that  is  inserted  automatically  when
reaching the excursion limits both during opening and closing.
To unlock the mechanism allowing handle movement, press downwards and
move simultaneously.
Pull  the  handles  until  they  are  fully  open.  It  Is  essential    to  verify  that  the
locking system has been properly inserted.
To  do  this,  try  to  slide  repeatedly  the  handles  without  applying  pressure
downwards.

There must be no movement.

DO  NOT  LIFT  THE  DEVICE  IF  THE  HANDLES  ARE  NOT  COMPLETELY
EXTRACTED AND LOCKED.

Similarly it is possible to close the telescopic handles verifying that they are
locked in closed position.

11.3

Lifting the stretcher with patient

Secure  the  patient  to  the  stretcher  with  the  supplied  belts  adjusting
properly  the  tension  according  to  the  patient’s  clinical  status.  The
operators should be at least two, one at the head side and the other one
at the foot side.

Using  the  appropriate  lifting  technique  to  minimize  the  effort  for  the
operator, grab the handles on each side and raise the stretcher keeping it
horizontal.

For  easier  lifting,  is  possible  to  extract  the  handles  as  described  in  the
previous paragraph.

For  lifting  operations  is  strictly  forbidden  to  grasp  the  handles  of  the
seat frame. Lifting the device using such handles may cause its sudden
folding.
