▪ Always check the position of ON/OFF switch.
The power tool must be connected to the power
supply socket only when this switch is in OFF
position. If the plug is connected to a recepta-
cle while the power switch is in the ON position,
the power tool will start operating immediately,
which could cause a serious accident.
▪ Make sure that the cord and the plug are in or
-
der. If the replacement of the supply cord is nec-
essary, this has to be done by the manufacturer
or his agent in order to avoid a safety hazard.
WARNING:
Always switch off and un-
plug the power tool prior to any adjustment,
servicing or maintenance.
▪ In case the work area is remote from the pow
-
er source, use as short as practicable extension
cord with proper cross-section.
PREPARATION fOR OPERATION
ASSEMBLING THE POWER TOOL
Depending on the model the power tool may be
delivered disassembled. In order to bring the
power tool in operating status it is necessary to
observe strictly the below described steps.
Familiarise yourself with these instructions and
the corresponding illustrations in detail prior to
assembling the power tool. This will allow you
to carry out accurately the actions necessary to
bring the power tool in operating status.
The accurate and precise assembly of power
tool components guarantees its reliable and
safe operation.
If you do not feel confident to assemble the
power tool properly, please contact the SPARKY
power tools distributor from whom you have pur-
chased the product or an authorised SPARKY
warranty service centre for assistance.
MOUNTING THE DRIVING MACHINE
1. Take the components out of the packing
carefully.
2. Place the long arm (2) onto a firm level
surface. Ensure there is no dirt or foreign body
in the coupling opening (9) which may hamper
the exact mounting of the driving machine (1).
At the presence of foreign bodies - clean them
using a dry soft cloth and an appropriate tool.
3. Mount the driving machine (1) carefully to
the long arm (2) so that the flexible shaft (10) will
enter the square opening of the outgoing spindle
(11) of the driving machine (1).
4. Apply slight axial pressure to achieve con-
tact between the faces of the coupling opening
(9) of the long arm (2) and the coupling journal
(12) of the driving machine (1). Align the driving
machine (1) as shown on Fig. 1.
5. Fasten the screws (40) delivered with the
machine using the supplied S3 Allen key with
torque M=2.5 Nm.
Ensure that the face contact between the cou-
pling opening (9) of the long arm (2) and the
driving machine (1) is not disturbed. In case the
face contact is disturbed, unwind the screws
(40) and repeat steps 4 and 5.
ASSEMBLING THE SANDING HEAD
Depending on the model this power tool may be
delivered with disassembled sanding head (3).
To assemble the sanding head follow strictly the
below described steps. (Fig. 2)
1. Place the spring (13) on the body (14).
2. Place the guard (15) onto the body (14), so
that the axis (16) will enter the groove of guard
(15).
3. Place the C-clip (17) into the groove of the
body (14) using the pliers delivered with the ma-
chine. It is necessary to apply slight axial pres-
sure in order to deform the spring (13) and to
gain access to the groove for the C-clip.
4. Press the guard (15) several times to en-
sure that the spring (13) returns the guard surely
to its operating position.
5. Mount the flexible hose (18) to the open
-
ings of the guard (15) and the base of the long
arm “A”.
Check the proper performance of the above
described steps, then select the necessary ac-
cessory for the intended operation and refer to
the corresponding section with description of
the specific accessory mounting. After the ac
-
cessory is being properly mounted you can start
operation with the power tool.
DISASSEMBLING THE SANDING HEAD
When performing operations which do not re-
quire the use of a guard (15) and additional dust
extraction and to achieve better visibility on the
operating zone and control of the power tool,
you may have to remove the guard.
Perform the following steps:
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Remove the previously used accessories
(refer to the corresponding section of this docu-
ment).
3. Remove the flexible hose (18).
