
Troubleshooting
My device is not working as expected
If you experience problems with your device, check these tips before you try anything
else:
•
Restart your device.
•
Remove and re-insert the SIM card. Then restart your device.
•
Force a restart of the device if the device hangs and can't be restarted normally, or
force the device to shut down completely.
•
Update your device. Updating your device ensures optimal performance and
provides the latest enhancements. See

on page 127 for more
information.
•
Reset your device.
Be patient while resetting your device. Restarting the device during a reset procedure may
damage the device permanently.
To force the device to restart

Press and hold down both the volume up key and the power key for five
seconds.

After your device vibrates once, release the keys. The device restarts
automatically.
To force the device to shut down
1
Press and hold down both the volume up key and the power key for 10
seconds.

After your device vibrates three times, release the keys. The device turns off
automatically.
Resetting your device
You can reset your device to its original settings, with or without deleting all of your
personal data. It is possible to reset your device to the state it was in before you first
turned it on. But before you perform a reset, make sure to back up any important
data saved on your device.
