About Power Supply to the Camera
The camera runs on 8.4 VDC. Always use the supplied NP-F550 lithium-
ion battery or PCS-AC08 AC power adaptor as the power supply.
A CR-2025 button battery is supplied for backing up the settings.
Battery drive
Running on the battery, the camera works as a standalone unit. Fully
charged, the NP-F550 allows about three hours of continuous playback.
For consecutive shooting at ten-second intervals, the NP-F550 allows
hundreds of shots to be taken.
As the battery runs out, it takes longer to charge the built-in strobe. In
addition, the camera may start charge-assisting operations, for instance,
temporarily turning off the LCD.

Tips
Battery consumption depends upon how and where the camera is used. It is
recommended that you charge the battery frequently.
AC power adaptor drive
Using an AC power adaptor, the user need not worry about the remaining
battery power.
1
Tips
To maximize the service life of the button battery, it is recommended that
you keep the NP-F550 set in the camera even during operation on an AC
power supply.
Role of the button battery
The camera needs power to keep the following settings in memory: flash
mode, H/S mode, zoom rate, EXPOSURE, APERTURE, WHITE
BALANCE, and SET UP.
Usually, power is fed from the AC power adaptor or NP-F550. When the
AC power adaptor is unplugged or the NP-F550 runs out, the button
battery feeds power to the memory.
1
Tips
The button battery should run out in about six months if no power is fed
from the AC power adaptor or NP-F550. To maximize the service life of
the button battery, it is recommended that you keep the NP-F550 set in the
camera even when it is not used.
To replace the button battery, use a charged NP-F550 or connect the AC
power adaptor beforehand.
