2-3-3. Printing Position Check and Adjustment
1.
Visually check the printing position (head direction) of
the test pattern (step 5 of Section 2-3-2) printed after
thermal head replacement.
When the printing position is correct
2.
Reset the head total count (Section 2-3-4).
When the printing position is not correct
2.
Move to SVC2 (service menu 2) using the
[*]
button.
3.
Move the cursor to “P H SHIFT” using the
[)]
button.
4.
Change the numeric value using the
[&]

[*]
buttons to adjust the printing position. Adjust until the
printing position becomes correct.
5.
Reset the head total count (Section 2-3-4).
2-3-4. Head Total Count Reset
1.
Move to SVC1 (service menu 1) using the
[&]
button.
2.
Move the cursor to “HEAD PRN.:” using the
[)]
button.
3.
Press the
[CLEAR]
button while pressing the
[EXEC]
button.
The total count is reset.
2-4. Master Reset (Initialization)
Perform the master reset (initialization) after upgrading the

[STOP]
,
[CAPTURE]
and
[PRINT]
buttons simultaneously.
2.
Check that “INITIALISE” is displayed on LCD.
n
Even if the master reset is performed, the density
adjustment value (HEAD V value), printing position
adjustment value (P H SHIFT value) and LANGUAGE
setting are not reset.
2-3-2. Density Check and Adjustment
1.
Print the test pattern. (Refer to Section 2-3-1.)
2.
Replace the thermal head. (Refer to Section 1-5-8.)
3.
Check that the ink ribbon and paper are loaded in this

4.
Start the service mode. (Refer to Section 2-1-1.)
5.
Print the test pattern. (Refer to Section 2-3-1.)
6.
Check if the test pattern printed in step 1 is the same
level in density as the test pattern printed in step 5 by
comparing them.
When the density is same level
7.
Check the printing position and perform the
adjustment (Section 2-3-3).
When the density is different level
7.
Move the cursor to “HEAD V:” in SVC1 using the
[)]
button.
8.
Adjust the density by increasing or decreasing the head
voltage parameter using the
[&]
and
[*]
button.
Increase the value: Head supply voltage is increased.
(Density becomes higher.)
Decrease the value: Head supply voltage is decreased.
(Density becomes lower.)
9.
Press the
[EXEC]
button to determine the voltage.
m
.
The head voltage cannot be changed unless the
[EXEC]
button is pressed.
.
This parameter does not represent the head apply
voltage value directly.
10. Print the test pattern again.
Repeat the adjustment until the printing result becomes
the same level in density as the test pattern printed in
step 1.
11. Check the printing position and perform the
adjustment (Section 2-3-3).
