2-5. Installing Transfer Manager
This section describes how to install, start/stop Transfer Manager Version 1.14 or later (hereafter referred
to as Transfer Manager). Transfer Manager Installer (hereafter referred to as the Installer) described here
is assumed to be DL360 made by HP, and the build-in HBA is assumed to be LSI7202XP made by LSI
Logic.
2-5-1. Preparation
Check the following items before installing Transfer Manager.
.
Checking the connection status of the fibre channel cable to the PC in which Transfer Manager is to be
installed
When installing Transfer Manager, make sure that the PC in which it is installed is not connected with
RAID (NSS-S2). If the PC is connected to the fibre channel cable, disconnect the fibre channel cable
before installation.
.
Checking the network settings of Transfer Manager
Before installation, confirm the IP address, host name, and other setting items for the Global Ethernet
that will be set in the PC in which Transfer Manager is installed. Although the default values (described
later) are provided by the Installer, they may be unavailable depending on the environment.
2-5-2. Installation
The Installer installs the operating system, the driver made by HP, and Transfer Manager.
Outline
Right after turning on the power of the PC, insert the install CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. Inserting
the CD-ROM automatically starts up the Installer. After starting up the Installer, input the network
settings (IP address, etc) that are required to run Transfer Manager. Then, the Installer automatically
installs the operating system, the driver made by HP, and Transfer Manager. During installation, the PC is
restarted twice, which are performed automatically. The installation itself is completed at the second
restart. After the second restart of the PC, Transfer Manager automatically starts.
