Notes on Operation
Booting and Shutdown (Power On/Off)
.
Boot and shut down the NSR and the external storage devices in the order as shown below. It is the
same when a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) is used.
Booting:
External storage device
→
NSR
Shutdown: NSR
→
External storage device
.
Recording starts after connection is established when the NSR booted before the external storage
device. It may take about 10 minutes.
.
The NSR cannot record and play back video and audio even if the NSR is active when the external
storage device is shut down. And the external storage device disconnecting may take several minutes
when the NSR is shut down after the external storage device.
.
Keep on the power of the LAN devices such as the network switch so that LAN connection may be
always available while the NSR is operating.
When the external storage device cannot be accessed normally
.
The remaining capacity indicates 0 on the storage screen (Configuration
→
General
→
Storage) when
the external storage device cannot be accessed.
.
Recording starts as follows when the external storage device cannot be accessed at starting recording.
Recording starts several minutes later than that the external storage device become accessible when a
normal recording is scheduled.
In the alarm-recording mode, the red frame is indicated on the monitor window, but REC indication
does not appear, and recording does not start.
.
If the external storage device connection is cut off during recording, recording is suspended, and
camera indication may go to VIDEO LOSS.
Revival of access to the external device makes the NSR restart recording. The recording is managed as
new one.
.
If the external storage device falls not accessible during recording and recording stops once, the error
LED and the status LED 1 and 2 on the front panel light on. These LEDs do not go off even if the
access revives and the recording restarts. Check the error situation, and then reboot the NSR.
Storage capacity
.
If the image frame rate to the external storage device becomes over 120 fps/unit, some frames may
drop. NSR operates on the best effort basis without limiting the frame rate of recording/playback.
.
If the external storage device is filled fully, recording stops.
Set the cleanup or data overwriting of storage settings to avoid such situation. (Refer to User’s Guide.)
After the filled state is eliminated, recording restarts. The recording is managed as new one.
