Setting Camera Input/Outputs
You can change the input/output settings of the video signals
on the SDI 1 and SDI 2 connectors of the camera using the
menu.
• The display selected by the DISPLAY/MENU switch is
always output on the SDI 1 connector.
• The camera image that is output in standalone mode is a
temporary HD image for checking operation.
The menu pages used for the output settings have been
registered to the USER menu at the factory.
• <SYSTEM FORMAT>
• <SDI OUT>
Set the following menu items to the settings shown in the
table.
For details about menu operations and the USER menu, see
“Menu Operations” (page 16).
Outputting the signal being shot (camera
picture)
The camera signals from the SDI 1 and SDI 2 connectors are
output temporarily as HD video for checking camera signal
operation.
a) The SDI 2 connector supports 3G-SDI (Level-B) output when SYSTEM
FORMAT is 59.94P or 50P.
Constantly outputting a return video
When a camera control unit is connected, one of the signals
being supplied to the camera control unit can be output from
the camera. The last selected return signal is output.
For details about selecting/switching the return signal, see
<SWITCH ASSIGN> (page No. 12) (page 32) in the
OPERATION menu.
Outputting the same image as a viewfinder
When the output setting of the SDI 1 connector of the camera
is set to VF, you can obtain a signal that includes the same
information as that displayed in a viewfinder according to the
settings of the VF MARKER, CHARACTER, VF DETAIL,
ZEBRA, etc.
With the settings for outputting the same image as a
viewfinder, the output is 1080i, even if the format setting is
720P.
Outputting an HD prompter image
When a camera control unit is connected to the SDI 1 and SDI
2 connectors of the camera, you can output the HD prompter
signal that is input to the camera control unit.
The HD prompter function can only be used when a single
format is selected and the network TRUNK function is set to
OFF.
a) When the output from the SDI 1 connector is set to HD PROMPTER, the
output image may not be displayed correctly if a camera HD prompter signal
whose format does not match the camera format is input from the camera
control unit. In this case, use the SDI 2 connector as the HD PROMPTER
output.
Inputting an HD-TRUNK signal
When a camera control unit is connected, you can output an
HD-TRUNK signal that is input on the SDI 2 connector of the
camera to the camera control unit.
Setting the Focus Assist Functions
Using the OPERATION menu, the assist functions for easier
focusing can be displayed on a monitor connected to the SDI
1 connector (VF setting).
Adding the VF detail signal
Adding the VF detail signal to sharp edges in the image on a
monitor screen makes it easier to check the focusing condition
by observing changes in the detail signal or in the color
converted from the detail signal (color detail).
The focus setting where the detail signal becomes strongest is
the best focus setting.
