When the “Start” button is active, go to the next step.
If the “Stop” button is active, press the “Stop” button
to change the “Start” button to active.

Press the “Start” button.

After the system is restarted, go to the top of 3-5-1 and
verify the status by pressing the “Refresh” button.
Startup process takes about 1 minute, press the
“Refresh” button in 1 minute to see a “GOOD” status.
3-5-2. Volume Registration

Select [Maitenance]
→
[Volume Maintenance] icon.
In case of the LIB-162

Click the “Stop (Quiesce) Library” button.

After the library is stopped, insert a cleaning tape to
the slot 16 of the Library.

Do not insert a data tape to slot 16, as the slot 16 is
reserved for a cleaning tape. If a data tape is inserted to
this slot, the tape can not be recognized.
4.
Insert 15 tapes into the slot 1 to 15 of the library.
If time does not permit, insert at least 6 tapes for A3
and 4 tapes for A4.
The rest of tapes can be registered in the same way
later but before it goes in operation.
5.
Click “Operate the library” button.
The registration needs about three minutes per tape.
