Precautions on Adjusting
Note1:
Before performing the adjustments, check the data of page: 0,
address: 10 is “00”. If not, set data: 00 to this address.

The adjustments of this unit are performed in the VTR mode
or camera mode.
To set to the VTR mode, set the power switch to “VCR” or set
the “Forced VTR Power ON mode” using the adjustment remote
commander (Note2).
To set to the Camera mode, set the power switch to “CAMERA”
or set the “Forced Camera Power ON mode” using the
adjustment remote commander (Note3).
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the “Forced VTR
Power ON Mode” or “Forced Camera Power ON Mode”.

The cabinet (R) (LCD block, memory stick socket *1, JK-229
board, DC IN jack and control switch) need not to be connected
except for the DC IN jack and JK-229 board, To remove it,
disconnect the following connectors.
1. VC-291 board CN461 (20P, 0.8mm)
2. VC-291 board CN460 (8P, 0.5mm) *1
3. DI-085 board CN2005 (30P, 0.5mm)
4. FU-161 board CN3301 (3P, 1.5mm)

The DC IN jack must be connected to the VC-291 board. So
remove the DC IN jack from the cabinet (R), and connect it to
the following connector.

To connect the adjustment remote commander, the LANC jack
must be connected. So remove the JK-229 board from the
cabinet (R), and connect it to the following connector.
DI-085 board CN2005 (30P, 0.5mm)

Short-circuit between TP4201 of the flash unit (FL-2960) and
the mechanism chassis (GND) with the short jig about 10
seconds and discharge the flashlight power supply capacitor.
(Refer to “SERVICE NOTE”.) The flash unit (FL-2960) needs
not to be connected during the adjustments. To disconnect it,
disconnect the following connector.

To open the FU-161 board, disconnect the following connector
FU-161 board CN3302 (3P, 1.5mm)

If the “Forced VTR power ON” mode is set, the control switch
block (PS-2960) need not be connected. To remove it,
disconnect the following connector.
DI-085 board CN2008 (15P, 0.3mm)

The control switch block (FK-2960) needs not be connected
except for the case that you eject the cassette. To remove it,
disconnect the following connectors.
DI-085 board CN2003 (8P, 0.5mm)

The EVF block (VF-154 board and Bluetooth antenna *1) needs
not be connected. To remove it, disconnect the following
connectors.
DI-085 board CN2006 (21P, 0.3mm)
BT-003 board CN102 *1
10) To open the DI-085 board, use the following extension cable
between the DI-085 board CN2002 and VC-291 board CN451.
J-6082-546-A (120P, 0.4mm)
11) The BT-003 board *1needs not be connected. To remove it,
disconnect the following connector.
VC-291 board CN462 (15P, 0.3mm) *1
12) The NS-016 board needs not to be connected. To remove it,
disconnect the following connector.
VC-291 board CN459 (19P, 0.3mm)
13) The lens block (CD-399 board) needs not be connected. To
remove it, disconnect the following connectors.
1. VC-291 board CN455 (20P, 0.5mm)
2. VC-291 board CN456 (27P, 0.3mm)

Note2:
Setting the “Forced VTR Power ON” mode (VTR mode)
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: D, address: 10, set data: 02, and press the PAUSE
button.
The above procedure will enable the VTR power to be turned on
with the control switch block (PS-2960) removed.
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the “Forced Power
ON mode”.
Note3:
Setting the “Forced Camera Power ON” mode (Camera mode)
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: D, address: 10, set data: 01, and press the PAUSE
button.
The above procedure will enable the camera power to be turned
on with the control switch block (PS-2960) removed.
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the “Forced Power
ON mode”.
Note4:
Setting the “Forced Memory Power ON” mode (Memory mode)
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: D, address: 10, set data: 05, and press the PAUSE
button.
The above procedure will enable the memory power to be turned
on with the control switch block (PS-2960) removed.
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the “Forced Power
ON mode”.
Note5:
Exiting the “Forced Power ON” mode
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: D, address: 10, set data: 00, and press the PAUSE
button.
3) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 00.
Note6:
Data such as date, time, user-set menus are back-up by the lithium
battery (BT901 of DI-085 board), so, even if the cabinet (R) is
removed these data will be kept.
And the self-diagnosis data and the data on history of use (total
drum rotation time etc.) will be kept too, even if the cabinet (R) is
removed. (Refer to “5-4.Service Mode” for the self-diagnosis data
and the data on history of use.)
