Adjustment on the Outlet Side
I )
Play back the tracking alignment tape. Bring the RF
waveform amplitude to 2/3 of the maximum level by
turning the track shift knob of the track shift and monitor
jig (See Fig. 2-56).
2) Turn guide . No.6 (TG-6) counterclockwise until the
waveform on the outlet side becomes one or 1 - 1 .5
ridges ( See Fig. 2-6 1 ).
3) Confirm that the waveform on the inlet side is free
from variations for five seconds and that the tape is
controlled by the upper flange of guide No.3 while the
lower flange lifts up ( See Fig. 2-6 2 ) .
4) Turn guide No.6 clockewise so that the waveform on the
outlet side becomes flat ( See Fig. 2-6 3 ).
5) Tighten the lock screw of guide No.6 and lock guide No.6.
Confirm that the waveform on the outlet side has no
variations.
Note:
When tightening the lock screw of guide No.6, turn the lock
screw with the base l ightly depressed downward so that the top
of guide No.5 (TG-5) does not come into contact with the
drum (See Fig. 2-62).
