15. Troubleshooting
All electronic devices can experience errors. This does not necessarily mean that there is a
defect in the device. You should therefore check the table below to see if you can remedy the
error by yourself.
Error
Possible cause
Remedy
The device
doesn’t switch on.
The power adapter isn’t
properly connected
Properly connect the power adapter (see
chapter "Creating the power supply”)
No sound
The volume is at the mini-
mum level
Increase the volume (see chapter “Setting
the volume”).
The sound is turned off
Turn the sound back on (see chapter
"Muting the playback”).
The headphones are con-
nected.
Pull the headphones from the connector
socket.
Another mode is set
Set the correct mode (see chapter “Selec-
ting the playback mode”).
The iPod play-
back does not
start
The iPod is not plugged in
Place the iPod into the iPod docking sta-
tion at the top of the device (see chapter
“iPod playback”).
The type of iPod is not
supported.
Check if your iPod is compatible with the
device (see chapter “Supported formats”)
The iPod does not contain
any readable audio files
Check the files on your iPod (see chapter
“Supported formats”)
Bad FM reception
quality
The transmitting output of
the station is too weak for
the internal antenna
Connect the external FM antenna (see
chapter “Connecting the antenna”).
The switch is in the wrong
position
Set the FM switch to the correct position
(see chapter “Connecting the antenna”).
The FM antenna is not pro-
perly positioned
Change the position of the FM antenna.
The alarm doesn’t
work.
The alarm is not been
activated
Turn on the alarm (see chapter "Turning
the alarm on and off”).
The alarm volume is at the
minimum level
Increase the volume (see chapter “Set the
alarm volume”).
The headphones are con-
nected.
Pull the headphones from the connector
socket.
The iRadio no
longer responds
to input
Briefly switch the device off and on again.
