Oximo WireFree™ Battery

Somfy recommends that all components be fitted systemati-
cally to the left of the roller shutter, even when fitting a solar
panel. If it proves necessary to fit a second solar panel, it
would no longer be possible if the components are fitted on
the right hand side of the roller shutter.
The Oximo WireFree™ Battery must be installed so as to be
sheltered from inclement weather.
It can be mounted for instance behind a runner (1), on the
back of (2) or underneath the roller shutter casing, inside
the roller shutter casing (3), under the window frame, or in
the corner of an interior wall (4): choose according to the
configuration and type of roller shutter.
Caution! The battery must remain accessible whatever the
position of the roller shutter for maintenance purposes (press
the PROG button, recharge if applicable, replacement).
Do not house the battery in a watertight box.
If installing the battery non-horizontally, always position it
with the cable output upwards.
Install the battery at least 1 m from any flame source.
3.1.2 Advice before installing the battery
Before commissioning, have the battery fully charged by a
professional, using the Somfy compatible external battery
charger.
This operation can be performed before installing the battery,
so that it is ready for commissioning, see section 5.1.
3.2 Installing the battery
Caution! Do not damage the cables during installation.
Deburr all drill holes.
3.2.1 Screw mounting
Somfy recommends screw mounting the battery, to ensure
a secure hold over time.
If installing the battery outside the roller shutter casing,

make an opening on the back of the casing to feed
through the battery cable inside it:
Cut a half-oblong 10 mm in diameter and 15 mm

long from the edge of the casing, as per the diagram
opposite.
Remove the plastic covers from each end of the battery:

Gently remove the mounting pads on the rear of the

battery (flat face) beside the metal part.
Slide the covers along the guides to release them from
-
their bracket.
Drill the battery mounting holes in the chosen location, as

per the diagram opposite.
Mount the battery using Ø 3 mm convex head screws in
4)
the holes drilled in the previous stage.
Refit the plastic covers at each end of the battery:

Slide the covers along the guides to engage them on
-
their bracket.
Press on the covers until they click to secure them
-
using the mounting pads.
