Checks
Before installing, check that:
• The actuator is sufficiently powerful to open
and close the window (ensure that the limits
indicated are not exceeded). Remember that
the window, especially if it is a skylight, may
have to not only stand up to the load due to
its ow weight but also bear the load due to
wind, snow and even ice, if any.
• The minimum height of the window is more
than 600 mm (top-hung windows and domes).
• The frame components and hinges are of an
adequate size to stand up to the operating
stress.
• The hinges and fixtures enable the actuator to
complete its opening stroke in order to pre
vent damage to the structures due to the
thrust and tensile stress exerted by the
actuator.
• The electrical control systems comply with the
regulations in force in the country of
installation.
• The actuator’s power cables are sufficiently
wide in diameter.
• The mains power supply and main switch are
near the window.
• There is a junction box to house the power
cable conductors.
• The packing contains all the component parts
and accessories required to install the
actuator (Fig. A00 – Fig. B00 – Fig. C00).
• The actuator operates smoothly when it is
powered up and the two limit switches, which
limit the extension and the retraction of the
chain, are triggered correctly.
• That during assembly and disassembly of the
actuator from the window, as it is not fixed in
the open or closed position, appropriate
measures are taken to avoid any accidental
banging with hits, breakages of the window
and injury to the operator.
•
In case of installation of the actuator on a
window wich is installed at less then 2.5
meters from ground level or other level
access, the actuator must be controlled
esclusively by a biased-off switch ( a
switch that automatically returns to the off
position when its actuating member is
released ) and installation must me done
using adeguate scaffolding.
A
• Find and mark the centre line of the window
and of the fixed frame.
• With a proper bit, drill the hole for the frame
fitting (B) at a height corresponding to
the actuator support surface.
The fixing holes for the frame fitting can be
done at 13 mm above the plane level on
which the actuator will be mounted according
to the available space.
• Use the screws supplied (1) to fix the frame
fitting (B) (only for aluminium windows).
Use screws of a suitable type and length for
windows made of a different material.
• Fit the actuator onto the windowsill and align
the front head (A) on the housing for the
frame fitting (B).
Warning!
Incorrect installation may make the
actuator dangerous! Follow all the
instructions set out below.

Operations to be carried out before installing
the actuator
• Power up the actuator and have it perform
one stroke to be sure that it was not damaged
during transit.
Warning!
If safety components prevent the
window from being fully opened or if the
window is opened less than the
actuator’s stroke, the actuator or
window may be damaged.
Danger!
Danger of hands being crushed. When
the window is moving, do not put your
hands between the fixed and moving
parts.
