Using the measuring instrument without a Solis espresso machine
Should you not use a Solis espresso machine, you have to consider the following
guidelines when using the measuring instrument with your portafilter:
Try using the measuring instrument with your portafilter until you reach a distance
of approx. 1 mm between the brewing head and the surface of the pressed coffee
powder. To do that, start with a little extra coffee powder and check the imprint
left by the brewing head in the coffee powder after the portafilter has been in-
serted into the brewing head and removed again (Caution: Do not yet brew any
coffee!). Proceed in small steps until you have reached the distance of 1 mm for
your espresso machine. You can now adjust the grind size until you have reached
espresso extraction ideal for yourself. Keep the filling height in the filter insert as
well as the tamping pressure constant for other coffee preparations.
