Using single-mode fiber optic cable, the 100BASE-FX port can be
connected to a remote site up to 20 km (12.4 miles) away. The
100BASE-FX module operates at 100 Mbps, with support for full-duplex
mode and flow control.

Using multimode fiber optic cable, the 100BASE-FX port can be
connected to a remote site up to 2 km (1.2 miles) away. The 100BASE-FX
module is fixed to operate at 100 Mbps full duplex, and supports
auto-negotiation for flow control. This module is fitted with an SC
connector, but you can attach an ST plug to the switch using the SC-ST
Converter (Part Number: 99-012034-091).
