3. Symptom
Computer A can connect to computer B, but cannot connect to
computer C through the 24-port switch.
Probable causes
•
Computers A and C may be in different VLAN groups.
•
Computer C’s network device may not be working.
•
There may be a problem with the network configuration of
computer C.
Possible Solutions
•
Check the VLAN configuration from the console port.
•
Check the link status LED on computer C’s network device.
If it is off, try using another network device that is known
to work.
•
Verify the network configuration of computer C.
4. Symptom
A trunked connection does not work.
Probable Causes
•
The trunk is not configured correctly.
•
The connecting ports on the other switch are not trunked.
•
The cable connections are not correct.
Possible Solutions
•
Check the trunk configuration from the console port.
•
Check that the connecting ports are trunked.
