Model VT3000

Quick Set-Up & Installer’s Guide

Cautions!

◊

To prevent electrical shock and/or equipment damage, turn off power at the main service

panel by removing the fuse or switching circuit breaker to OFF position until removal of

existing and installation of the Talking Thermostat is complete.

◊

This thermostat must be installed in conformance with all local and national building and

electrical codes.

◊

Use only on single transformer systems.

Step 1: Mount Sub Base & Connect Wiring

◊

Mount sub base to wall using enclosed screws and anchors.

◊

Attach system wires to sub base terminals according to the system manufacturer’s

diagrams (Talking Thermostat suggested wiring diagrams on

pages 16 & 17).

Step 2: Set DIP Switches

◊

Determine the type of heating and

cooling system

Locate DIP switches on circuit

board immediately below the

battery bracket, left of the RJ45 jack

Set DIP switches for your type

system according to chart  (chart is

shown right)
Note: for thermostat to operate

correctly the DIP switches must be

set to match the system
