6.2
Connecting RS485 Devices
Renewed detection after a replacement or addition
If you replace or add RS485 devices, you must detect the RS485 devices again. To do this,
press and hold the function button on the SMA Com Gateway using a sharp object (e.g.
paperclip) for between 1 and 5 seconds.
Cable requirements:
☐ Cross-section: at least 2 x 2 x 0.22 mm² or at least 2 x 2 x 24 AWG
☐ Shielded
☐ Twisted pair conductors
☐ UV resistant
☐ Maximum cable length across the entire RS485 bus: 1200 m
