4.3 Batch End - Capturing
•
Remove the weigher before capturing.
•
Clean the weigher thoroughly. It stands heavy high-pressure cleaning with the cap in place.
Before disinfection, the cap is removed by turning it in the direction specified.
•
When using the plug connection, remember to install the dust cap before cleaning the house.
•
Between the batches, the weigher ought to be stored in a dry room.
It is important that the weigher is removed from the livestock house before
capturing of birds and that it is not damaged.

At batch end, it must be checked if the computer displays less weight than the settled
slaughter weight.
If this is the case, the correction factor must be adjusted.
Do this by calculating the deviation by percentage between slaughter weight and calculated
weight. Subsequently, the deviation is used as the new correction factor.
Example:
Slaughter weight:
2190g
Final weight in the computer:
2110g
Calculation: 2190 / 2110 × 100% =
10308%
Correction factor
≈ 104%
The correction factor is set to 104% in the computer.
The natural behaviour of the birds results in the heaviest birds not mounting the weigher as often as the
lighter birds. Therefore, the weigher may indicate a lower weight than the real slaughter weight.
The correction factor is set in order to compensate for the deviation; the correction factor adjusts the
weight depending on the age of the birds.
4.4 Maintenance
•
The weigher is maintenance-free but should be kept free of litter and dirt.
•
SKOV A/S recommend that the weigher is calibrated after each batch. It must as a
minimum be calibrated once a year. See
DOL 94-10 Technical Manual.
