MAXITROL GV60 IGNITION SYSTEM
TROUBLESHOOTING
Maxitrol GV60
Maxitrol GV60 Fan troubleshooting.
Fan operation
- fan start/stop is controlled by a timer. There is a 4 minute delay between the burner firing and the fan start. After
the burner shuts down the fan will run for 10 minutes before stopping.
Fan Troubleshooting
- If the fan does not run after the burner has been on for 4 minutes or more check the following:
-Test the fan by turning it on manually. Press the ‘Set” button until the fan icon is displayed, and then use the large flame and small
flame buttons to adjust the fan speed. Once the fan is set to the desired speed either wait 8 seconds until the command is entered
automatically or press the “Off” button to complete the sequence. If the fan has power it should start at the selected speed. If not,
move to the next steps.
-Check the red LED on the fan control module; if 120VAC is available the red LED will be lit. If power is not available and LED is
not be lit, ensure the unit is plugged in and that the outlet has power.

-Tests the fan control module for incoming power. It should have around 120 VAC available. To test, set multi-meter to AC voltage
in a range of 200V. Remove the 4 wire Molex from the port labeled “Power” on the fan control module and test across the 2 black
wires. Reading should be approximately 120 VAC.

-Test for power at the fan terminals. Expected voltages based on fan speed listed below.
All voltages are approximate and will vary based on available line voltage.

Speed One – 70VAC
Speed Two – 80VAC
Speed Three – 100VAC
Speed Four – 120VAC / Line voltage
-If the fan control module has power available, the fan is ON at the remote and the fan timer has been satisfied (5 min delay ON)
but no power can be measure at the fan, replace the fan control module.
-If at least 70VAC can be measure at the fan but it does not move, check for physical obstructions. Is anything stopping the fan
squirrel cage from moving? If not, replace the fan.
