6. Getting Started—Software Installation
The Si4700/01/02/03 Windows GUI (graphical user interface) software is designed and intended for use only with
the Si4700/01/02/03 evaluation boards (EVB). This user guide is written to support firmware version 15 and above.
The GUI software development program uses the host machine USB port to communicate with the
Si4700/01/02/03 EVB and is tested for use with Windows XP.
To get started, insert the Silicon Laboratories Inc. Si4700/01/02/03 CD into the host machine CD drive and launch
Windows Explorer. Open the CD to explore the contents in a window like the one shown in Figure 5 below.

Open the Si470X folder and run Setup.exe.
The setup program may prompt to install the DotNetFramework which is required for the program to function. This
may be installed from the DotNetFramework directory on the Installation CD or from the Microsoft website. At a
minimum, Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 is required.
Launch the software under Start
