Installation and electrical connection
4.2 Electrical connection and switch point
4.2.1 Open the cover
Unscrew the screws from the cover of the flow monitor.
Remove the cover with gasket.
Place these parts aside for later use.
4.2.2 Electrical connection
DANGER! Risk of death due to electric current!
Always de-energize the system before connecting the VM100.
CAUTION! Destruction or damage of reed contact!
The max. contact loads mentioned on the type plate refer to pure ohmic loads and may
not be exceeded under any circumstances.
Pay attention to § 1.1.1 "Reed contact - Switching of inductive or capacitive loads".
The flow monitor of the VM100 series are designed as standard for 24 V
DC
or 230 V
AC
.
The flow monitor must always be connected in a series circuit with the AC mains.
It can be used with two different wiring
schemes.
*1 Normally closed contact:
The load R
L1
is connected to terminal 3 (Nor-
mally closed contact).
*2 Normally open contact:
The load R
L1
is connected to terminal 2 (Nor-
mally open contact).
Back-up fuse:
The back-up fuse S
i
must be rated in accor-
dance with the maximum current for the supply
voltage used and must be quick-acting.
