4.2 Mounting Example of an Exhaust Gas Sensor
The following steps refer to the type of temperature sensor used in this example. For other
types, individual steps may vary or are not applicable.
Installation instructions temperature sensor
The measuring accuracy can be significantly influenced by the installation conditions e.g. by
the installation depth and the heat dissipation on the installation site.
POSITION OF THE MEASURING POINT
For an accurate temperature measurement, the correct positioning of the measur-
ing point of the temperature sensor at the installation site is required.
Install the temperature sensor with an immersion depth of at least 20 mm in the medium
to be measured.
The measuring point should be in the middle of the pipeline.
Too short or too long immersion tubes result in an incorrect temperature display.
Make sure that a sufficient long immersion tube is used in case of insulations.
Prepare temperature sensor
Components:
Temperature sensor (1x / 2x Pt1000) with union
nut and connection cable.
Immersion tube and / or protective tube with
thread.
Copper gasket (DIN 7603).
Preparation:
Loosen the union nut of the temperature sensor.
Remove the temperature sensor from the immersion tube or the protective tube.
Lay out the components for installation.
