3.4.2 Flow control
Besides setting of the rate and the transmission mode, the modem features
flow control in compliance with the IEEE 802.3x specifications. It improves
operation, protects packet buffer against overflowing and prevents data
loss. This technique may also improve total network throughput and help to
achieve optimal performance.
