Issue 10
If
ONLY
any of the following faults are recorded when in Outstation or Monitor
mode, Whilst OTUs respond with out faults to test set in Instation mode:
BIC, CMS
If Instation not transmitting sufficient bytes and OTU is last on the
line
RCRC
If OTU replying with too many of to few control bytes
POSSIBLE FAULT:
Due to Control data errors e.g. incorrect numbers for
OTU or incorrect numbers of OTUs on the line.
If
ANY
of the following Recorded whilst in Outstation Or Monitor mode.
On test set,
CFE, CCRC, BIC, SCM, SL, Not Yet Synchronised.
POSSIBLE FAULT:
Data corruption due to incorrect baud rate at in station
or faulty modem board.
WHILST CHECKING AT OUTSTATION:
If
ONLY
any of the following faults are recorded when in Instation or Monitor
mode, Whilst UTC TCC/Instation operates with out OTU faults when test set is
used to simulate the OTU, i.e. in Outstation mode:
On test set, Reply
Idle
and/or
CD indicator not showing carrier being
detected
.
POSSIBLE FAULT:
Outstation not transmitting
, to confirm simulate OTU
with test set, i.e. switch ITS to Outstation and check that
UTC TCC/Instation is communicating with it. If the ITS is
replying and Instation is not recording OTU faults.
Check OTU fault log
to determine reason for OTUs
failure to reply.
If
ONLY
any of the following Recorded whilst in Outstation Or Monitor modes,
Whilst OTU responds with out faults to test set in Instation mode.
On test set
CFE, CCRC, Not Yet Synchronised, BIC, SL
.
CNL1
Inter message gap between last reply message and start of next
control message being infringed upon, check OTU replies especially
OTU at last address.
POSSIBLE FAULT:
Data corruption due to line or Instation. If already tested
at Instation and no fault indicated by test set when this
OTU is simulated with test set in Outstation mode, this
would now indicate Line or Interference from another
OTU on the line.
If
ONLY
any of the following Recorded whilst in Outstation Or Monitor modes,
Whilst OTU responds with out faults to test set in Instation mode.
