Note
If the selected hardware switch-off voltage of the BT HART modem falls below
2.8 V, the device switches off automatically.
In this case, replace the batteries of the BT HART modem before you turn it on
again.
8.2
Setting up a link to the VIATOR USB HART Modem
The VIATOR USB HART modem is used as an interface for the commissioning
and calibration of HART field devices and their data collection. The modem is
Hart-compliant for communication with all HART field devices.
Power supply to the USB HART modem is via the USB port. No external power
supply is needed.

1. Connect the USB HART modem physically to the USB port of the Tablet PC.
2.
Click on the home screen of the Tablet PC on the “ViatorCheckBT” icon to
check the Bluetooth connection.
3. Confirm the message "Do you want to allow..." with the "Yes" button.
4. Select the option box for "Disable Port Mapping".
The USB HART modem is displayed in the "Active Com Ports" field.
In this example, the USB HART modem is assigned to port "COM20"
(important for SIMATIC PDM settings).
