Introduction

The RUGGEDCOM RST916C is a 16-port utility-grade, fully managed Ethernet
switch specifically designed to operate reliably in electrically harsh and climatically
demanding environments.

Removable SFP Transceivers
The device supports up to four Small Form-factor Portable (SFP) transceivers,
allowing the device to be adapted to the requirements of the network
application. A wide array of 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps transceivers are available.

Fixed Ethernet Ports
In addition to removable SFP transceivers, the device also features 12 standard
10/100/1000Base-TX fixed copper Ethernet ports for Local Area Network (LAN)
access.

Configuration and Licensing Plug (CLP)
The CLP is is a removable media for storing configuration files, product licenses,
and software updates for the purpose of backup and transfer to other devices. A
protective cover is provided to prevent the ingress of dust and dirt when the CLP
is not in use.

Built for Harsh Environments
The device provides a high level of immunity to electromagnetic interference,
heavy electrical surges, extreme temperatures and humidity for reliable
operation in harsh environments.
The device features IP40 degree protection and does not use internal fans for
cooling.
The device supports an extended operating temperature range of -40 to 85 °C
(-40 to 185 °F) in non-hazardous environments, or -40 to 80 °C (-40 to 176 °F) in
hazardous environments.

Compact Design
The small form factor of the RUGGEDCOM RST916C allows for installation in
space-limited cabinets and on DIN rails.

Dual Input Power
Two variants of the device are available:
• A HI AC/DC model
• A LO DC model
Each features dual power inputs to support redundant AC/DC or DC power
sources.
