Loop without loudspeakers at loop isolators and with
loudspeakers between the loop isolators
It is also possible to use the loop isolators without loudspeakers at the Loop
isolator (100V) itself. In this case, we recommend terminating the loudspeaker
output at the loop isolator with a 12 k
Ω
/ 1 W EOL resistor; this guarantees an
isolation time of < 4 seconds if a short-circuit occurs in alarm operation. A 12 k
Ω
EOL resistor consumes 0.85 W of power, which must be taken into account when
calculating the amplifier power.

If the loudspeaker output is not to be terminated at the loop isolator, this must be
configured using the SIL switch. If a short-circuit occurs in alarm operation in this
configuration, the isolation time increases to approximately 15 seconds.

To deactivate loudspeaker monitoring: set SIL switch 8 [4] to ON.
