Using HiPath 4000 as an
intercommunication system
You can voice call an internal HiPath 4000 user via the
loudspeaker in his or her telephone to set up a connec-
tion. You can also initiate voice calling from consultation.
The following functions are available:
•
System-wide voice calling
– to a variable destination
– to a fixed destination
•
Voice calling in a group
– to a variable destination
– to a fixed destination
•
Two-way voice calling within a group
– to a variable destination
– to a fixed destination
•
Announcement to all members of a line group
You can abort voice calling or the announcement by re-
placing the handset or pressing the line key or by pick-
ing up the call on hold during consultation.
For all functions ensure that the
voice calling
protection
for the telephones in question has
been
de-activat
page 21. As far as tele-
phones with no display, e. g. optiPoint 500 entry,
are concerned, the voice call protection is de-ac-
tivated via a key that has been installed.
If a user is voice called and his or her voice-call
protection has been activated, voice calling is ig-
nored and a normal call is put through instead
