General reset (hard reset)
Your device contains secret data that could harm you if it becomes known to unauthor-
ised persons, e.g. your network configuration data. Therefore, it is very important that
you carry out a general reset on your Gigaset WLAN Repeater before you pass on the
device (e.g. for repairs or overhaul). This is done as follows:
ì
Insert an appropriate object, e.g. a straightened paperclip, in the small opening
labelled
Reload
on the underside of the device and press the small button in it.
ì
Hold the button down until all the LEDs on the upper side of the device go out and
on again.
ì
The device has now been reset to the factory settings and no longer contains any
private data. You can now pass it on without running any risks.
Please remember:
It may be the case that other PCs in your network cannot be reached via the DHCP
server for the same reasons. In such cases, you will have to carry out the steps
described above on these PCs as well.
Please remember:
You may wish to back up the configuration data before performing a general reset
(see page 93).
