The pu rpose o f this adjustment is to esta blish an armatu re gap of 3/1 6 to 1 /4 inches. {4.8 - 6.4mm )

suitable fee ler gage of optimum thickness , . 2 1 8" {5.56 mm) should be inserted in the armature
gap. That is, the space between the ground surfaces of the solenoid frame and ground

shaped
extensions of the solenoid plu nger.
The connecting l i n k between the so lenoid p l u nger and c lose l atch s h o u l d be adjusted to
m a m ta i n the p l u nger i n this posi tion. The l ock ing screw i s released a nd the adjusting cap
shifted u nt i l the effective l ength of the l i n k su pports the p l u nger with i n the ind icated range.
