This switch kit fits the motor on SHUR-DRI Pump Model
Numbers SD3P and SD3P1.

This equipment is
only for use on 115 volt (single phase) only.
Hazardous voltage. Can shock, burn or
kill. To reduce risk of electric shock:
• Pull the plug on the pump before replacing the
switch.
• Do not walk on a wet area until all the power has
been turned off. If the shut off box is in basement,
call the electric company or hydro authority to shut
off the service to the house, or call your local fire
department for instructions.
• Do not lift the pump by the power cord.
• Keep the motor and the switch dry.
1. Know the pump application, limitations, and poten-
tial hazards.
2. Disconnect power before servicing.
3. Release all pressure within system before servicing
any component.
4. Drain all water from the system before servicing.
5. Personal Safety:
a. Wear safety glasses at all times when working with
pumps.
b. Keep work area clean, uncluttered and properly
lighted – replace all unused tools and equipment.
c. Keep visitors at a safe distance from work area.
d. Make workshop child-proof – with padlocks, mas-
ter switches, and by removing starter keys.
6. When wiring an electrically driven pump, follow all
electrical and safety codes that apply.
7. Protect the electrical cord from sharp objects, hot sur-
faces, oil, and chemicals. Avoid kinking the cord.
Replace or repair damaged or worn cords immediately.
8. Do not touch an operating motor. Modern motors are
designed to operate at high temperatures.
9. Do not handle pump or pump motor, or change fuses
with wet hands or when standing on wet or damp
surface, or in water.
INSTALLATION
• Rated for use on motors up to 1/3 HP.
• Mounts directly to the motor
Risk of electric shock. Unplug pump before
attempting to work on pump, motor, or switch. Do not
handle switch, pump, or motor with wet hands or while
standing on wet or damp surface or in water.
NOTE:
This double pole switch provides maximum elec-
trical protection. Your pump may be provided with a sin-
gle pole switch. If so, the electrical connections will not
be the same, so carefully follow these instructons to
ensure proper operation.
1. Disconnect the power to the pump.
2. Remove the upper rod stop and allow the float rod to
drop through the switch eyelet. See Figure 1.
