5.4. Handling.
Handle the product with care to avoid damages.
5.5. Positioning.
The product
23
must be carefully positioned away from the home pond and/or aquarium.
The product cannot be used on the water surface.
Considering the following aspects is recommended:
•
Dimensions and origin of hydraulic parts.
•
Necessary clearance.
•
Location of the power supply (power outlet). The product power plug must be accessible after installation.
•
Support and its location. We recommend you bury the filter (Fig. 5).
Please remember that water must be conveyed to the product through an appropriate pump (Fig. 3).
If the product is used in a home pond and/or aquarium with a waterfall, we suggest you install it upstream from the waterfall
(Fig. 4).
5.6. Connections and start-up.
The product must be installed and operated by individuals with appropriate training.
The electrical system must meet current international and/or national regulations
24
.
The product
24
must be connected to an power outlet equipped with a residual current device with sensitivity over 30 [mA].
Before starting the product make sure this device is installed in your electrical system. Contact a technician if necessary.
Make sure the product
24
complies with your electrical system.
The power outlet must be at a suitable distance from the water but easily accessible in order to be able to easily turn off the
product
24
in the event of fault. Cutting the power cord and/or replacing the power plug is strictly prohibited.
The power cord
24
must be positioned to avoid possible damages such as bends and/or cuts.
Hose connection (Fig. 6).
5.6.1.
Proceed as follows:
1. Connect the hydraulic hose from the pump or filter to product input (IN, Fig. 9), using the hose support (Fig. 2, # 11a, b, c).
2. Connect product output (OUT, Fig. 9) to the hydraulic hose that returns water to the water basin and/or aquarium using the
hose support (Fig. 2, # 11a, b, c).
Secure the hydraulic hoses with the safety clamps.
For easier hose insertion, heat the concerned end in boiling water before inserting it in the hose support. Cut the diameter
smaller than the hose support to permit better product operations, see Fig. 6.
Make sure the hydraulic hose length is as short as possible to minimum flow reductions. Avoid hydraulic hose deformations or
clogs that could jeopardise product operations.
UV-C lamp installation (Fig. 2, Fig. 7 and Fig. 8), if present.
5.6.2.
Proceed as follows:
1. Remove the UV-C lamp from the box (Fig. 2, # 2), being careful not to touch the light bulb with your bare hands
25
.
2. Screw the UV-C lamp into the socket (Fig. 7) on the board (Fig. 2, # 1a)
3. Assemble the UV unit cover (Fig. 2, # 1a e Fig. 8).
4. Screw in the UV unit cover fastening screw (Fig. 2, # 1b and Fig. 8).
5. Connect the product to the power mains.
If installation is correct, a blue light will turn on using the check light (do not place the check light in direct sunlight)
26
.
5.7. Reinstallation and reuse.
Clean the product and the moving parts accurately before stopping the product for a while, such as, for instance, during the
winter months. Do not lubricate and/or use detergents and chemical cleaning products.
If there is the risk of freezing, the product must be carefully emptied from the liquids in its hydraulic circuit. It is advisable to
empty all the hydraulic parts.
5.8. Demolition and disposal.
Collecting recyclable material, both those used for packaging (cardboard, nylon, etc.) and those replaced during maintenance is
recommended. Suitable collection of waste material for recycling, processing and environmentally compatible disposal
contributes in avoiding possible negative effects on the environment and health and promotes the reuse and/or recycling of
product materials.
Illicit product disposal by the user may be punishable by current international and/or national laws.
Electric/electronic waste disposal.
5.8.1.
EU directive 2002/96/EC classifies this product as an electrical or electronic tool. The barred bin symbol on the
equipment or packaging indicates that the product must be separated from other waste at the end of its working life.
Therefore, the user must take equipment to electronic and electro-technical waste collection centres at the end of its

Product with UV-C lamp.
25
Do not touch the UV-C lamp and test tube with your bare hands. Impurities, dirt and grease on hands could jeopardise
product performance.
