5-5. Lifting/Lowering the Mast
CAUTION: INJURY
Do not touch the mast, winch drum or wire when the mast is moving up/down.
<Note>
Depletion of the grease of the ring key on the surface on the winch drum side reduces the
service life of the winch.
Periodically apply grease according to "
12.
Inspection/Maintenance".
(1) Raising the Mast
Turn the winch handle to the right (clockwise rotation) to
raise the mast.
<Note>
Winch handle movement becomes more difficult when
nearing the highest mast position. Do not force the mast
beyond that position. The highest position is where you
can see the arrow label. Forcibly turning the winch can
result in malfunction and breakage of the winch, wire or
pulley.
(2) Lowering the Mast
Turn the winch handle to the left (counterclockwise
rotation) to lower the mast.
<Note>
The reverse winding protector functions when the mast
exceeds the lowest position to prevent the winch handle
from moving further. Do not forcibly turn the handle.
