Notes:

Subjecting the unit to shock or vibration may cause mistracking.
z
Playing certain CD at a high volume may cause mistracking. In this case, lis-
ten at a lower volume.
z
If the recorded side of the CD is touched or becomes dirty, refer to "Care of com-
pact discs" (page 2) and clean it.
z
If a disc is damaged or dirty, the sound may skip.
z
If an error message is displayed during CD operation, see "Error messages" on
page 27.
z
If TV or radio interference occurs during CD operation, move the unit away from
the TV or radio.

To remove the CD
Caution:
z
Do not insert or remove the CD whilst the shutter is opening or closing. Be
careful not to damage the CD when inserting or removing it.
z
The CD insertion slot faces upward. Be careful not to drop coins, etc. into it.
If the unit is not used for a long time, dust may accumulate on the insertion
slot. Clean it with a cotton swab (see page 27).
z
Do not play discs with special shapes (heart- or octagon-shaped). It may cause
malfunctions.
z
Do not insert 2 or more CDs at the same time.
z
If a special-shaped disc, or two or more discs are accidentaly inserted, the CD
cannot be ejected with the
button. In this case, reset the unit (see page 27) to
remove the CD.

Whilst in the stop mode, press the
button.
z
Remove the half-ejected CD.
z
If the CD is left half-ejected for approx. 2 minutes, the CD will be loaded and the
shutter will be closed automatically.

After removing the CD, press the
button again.
z
The shutter of the insertion slot will be closed.
z
If you turn off the unit whilst the shutter is open, the shutter will be closed.
