Printing from a notebook computer

To print by infrared transfer from a notebook computer, you must:

♦

Have a notebook computer with an infrared port. The computer
must be running Windows 95. (Refer to your computer manual
and/or Ir port documentation for information on using the Ir port
and installing an Ir driver.)

♦

Install the Sharp Color MFP printer driver and select your
computer’s logical infrared COM port (usually COM 4) as the
Sharp MFP printer port.

Installing the Sharp Color MFP printer driver

Follow the steps below to install the Sharp Color MFP printer.

Place your notebook computer so that its infrared port directly faces
the Sharp MFP’s infrared port, at a distance of no more than 20
inches (50 cm). Your notebook computer should be turned on and
the Sharp MFP plugged in.

Avoid direct sunlight or other strong light sources.

In the desktop of your notebook computer, open Control Panel
(click Start, Settings, and select Control Panel). In Control Panel,
double click the Infrared icon to open Infrared Monitor. In the
Status tab of Infrared Monitor, make sure that Sharp Color MFP
appears under Available infrared devices in range.

Open the Printers window (click Start, Settings, and select Printers).
