Activation / deactivation behavior
•
The oil heater is activated when the factory set temperature is reached. This tem-
perature setpoint depends on the following factors:
– With splash lubrication/bath lubrication: The pour point of the used oil
– With pressure lubricated gear units: Temperature at which the oil viscosity
reaches a maximum of 2000 cSt

The oil heater is deactivated when the set temperature is exceeded by 8 to 10°C.
Thermostat and oil heater are usually installed on the gear unit and are ready for
operation but without electrical connections. Therefore, do the following before startup:
1. Connect the resistor element ("Oil heating") to the power supply
2. Connect the thermostat to the power supply
