Oil heater
An oil heater may be required to ensure lubrication during a cold gear unit startup
when the ambient temperature is low.
Oil heating is required to ensure lubrication during startup at low ambient temperature
(e.g. cold start of the gear unit).
The oil heater consists of 3 basic parts:
•
Heating element [1] in the oil sump (oil heater)
•
Temperature sensor [2]
•
Thermostat [3]

INFORMATION
The position of the thermostat, the oil heater and oil level monitoring varies with
design of the gear unit.
